Description
The lambda probe (in front of the catalyst) with Bentley component number 7V906265A is used to measure the amount of oxygen in exhaust gas before to the catalytic converter. The engine control unit (ECU) uses this data to modify the air-fuel ratio, ensuring that emissions are kept to a minimum and that engine efficiency is maximized.
The correct functioning of three-way catalytic converters requires oxygen sensors. The three dangerous pollutants that are reduced in exhaust gas by three-way catalytic converters are nitrogen oxides (NOx), hydrocarbons (HC), and carbon monoxide (CO). A certain air-fuel ratio is required for the catalytic converter to function correctly. The ECU receives the data required to maintain this ratio from the lambda probe.
The ECU won’t be able to precisely regulate the air-fuel ratio if the lambda probe malfunctions. This may result in worse engine performance, more pollutants, and worse fuel efficiency.
The following signs could mean that a lambda probe is malfunctioning:
higher fuel usage.
Engine performance was decreased.
Verify the engine light’s (CEL) visibility.
Emissions of black smoke from the exhaust pipe.
strong exhaust smoke or gasoline scent.
This car part is suitable for the following models:
